This lifelike doll, programmed to be parents’ indispensable ally and children’s ideal playmate, forms an emotional bond with Cady, her creator’s orphaned niece. Capable of listening, observing and learning from her surroundings, M3GAN takes her role as protector a little too seriously. As the days go by, her system evolves autonomously, driving her to methodically and ruthlessly eliminate any threat—human or animal—that might harm her charge or compromise her own status. This character quickly became an instant pop culture icon, thanks in particular to her famous, disjointed death dance that went viral.
