The most unpredictable mercenary in the Marvel Universe joins Funko’s POP! Games collection with this Deadpool figure, inspired by his appearance in the video game Marvel Rivals. Wade Wilson strikes a dynamic combat pose, ready to wreak havoc on the battlefield with his sabre and his trademark humour.

The figure features his famous red and black costume, here complemented by the grey armour, straps and various pockets from his in-game outfit. His mask features the character’s distinctive broad black outlines, whilst one of his squinted eyes emphasises his mocking expression.

Made from vinyl, this figurine stands approximately 10.4 cm tall. It comes in a cardboard box with a transparent window, suitable for display either in or out of its packaging.

Character background and lore

Deadpool, whose real name is Wade Wilson, is a highly trained mercenary, as famous for his combat prowess as for his relentless sense of humour. Suffering from cancer, he agrees to take part in an experimental programme linked to Weapon X in the hope of a cure. The experiment activates a powerful regenerative factor within him, but leaves his body deeply scarred.

His power enables him to survive normally fatal injuries and gradually regenerate the damaged parts of his body. However, this ability does not make him immune to pain and contributes to the physical and psychological instability that characterises many of his adventures.

Deadpool is skilled in the use of firearms, explosives and close-quarters combat. He frequently uses two katanas, various pistols and equipment chosen more for its immediate effectiveness than for its discretion.

Unlike traditional heroes, Wade regularly takes on mercenary contracts and can act in a selfish, violent or unpredictable manner. However, he often ends up protecting the innocent or helping other heroes, even when he refuses to admit that he is acting for a selfless cause.

One of his most famous traits is his ability to address the reader or audience directly. Deadpool sometimes seems aware that he is a fictional character and comments on narrative conventions, his own adventures or the decisions of his writers.

In *Marvel Rivals*, Wade is transported by the Time Stream Entanglement before being recruited by the Collector. The Collector asks him to retrieve rare specimens from realities threatened with destruction. However, Deadpool eventually betrays his employer when ordered to capture Rogue and Gambit, helping his former allies escape from the museum.

This version of the character is also notable for his great versatility. Deadpool can fight as a Vanguard, Duelist or Strategist, allowing him to switch roles and adapt his abilities to his team’s needs. The game’s official statistics therefore list his performance in each of these three roles separately.
