Origin and world of the character (Lore)Introduced by Walt Disney Animation Studios in 2016, Vaiana is the daughter of Chief Tui on the Polynesian island of Motunui. Chosen by the ocean itself to cross the reef and find the demigod Maui, her mission is to restore the heart of the goddess Te Fiti in order to stop the niella eating away at her island. The figurine illustrates the mystical bond and physical complicity between her and the ocean, represented here as a living, protective entity that interacts directly with her.
