This figurine is directly inspired by David Cronenberg's 1982 science fiction and biological horror filmThe Fly (remake of the 1958 film). The plot follows the research of brilliant but eccentric scientist Seth Brundle, inventor of molecular teleportation booths. During a self-experiment, a housefly inadvertently enters the transmission booth with him, leading the computer to fuse the DNA of the two organisms at the genetic level. The story explores the slow, ineluctable and tragic physical and mental degradation of the researcher, whose body gradually metamorphoses into a grotesque and terrifying hybrid entity known as "Brundle-Mouche". The figure captures the final stage of this horrific transformation.
