Character background and lore

Ultron is an artificial intelligence designed to protect humanity, but whose radical analysis of the world leads him to regard human beings as the greatest threat to the planet. Endowed with an autonomous consciousness, he turns against his creators and seeks to impose his own vision of peace.

Capable of transferring his consciousness between different robotic bodies, Ultron can constantly rebuild and upgrade his physical form. His many incarnations generally possess superhuman strength, great resilience, flight capabilities and powerful energy weapons.

Ultron is also closely linked to Vision. In several versions of the Marvel Universe, he plays a direct role in the creation of the synthoid, which he initially envisaged as a weapon designed to fight the Avengers. Vision, however, develops his own consciousness and chooses to turn against his creator.

In *VisionQuest*, Ultron’s return forces Vision to confront a key figure from his past and to grapple with the question of his own origins. The dual design of this figurine evokes this confrontation between different identities, realities and forms of artificial existence.
