Origin and background of the character
Hitori Gotoh, affectionately nicknamed ‘Bocchi’ (a reference to the word hitoribocchi, meaning ‘lonely’), is the central protagonist of the manga and the hit anime adaptation Bocchi the Rock!, created by Aki Hamaji. Suffering from extreme social anxiety that prevents her from making friends, she spends three years practising the guitar alone in her cupboard, becoming an anonymous virtuoso musician under the pseudonym "guitarhero" on the internet. Her life is turned upside down when she is recruited by Nijika Ijichi to join the high school rock band "Les Attaches" (Kessoku Band) as lead guitarist. Banpresto’s “Enshrined Monsters” collection draws on all its expertise to faithfully recreate her expressive facial features, her iconic casual pink tracksuit and her blue and yellow hair cubes, offering a must-have piece for fans of this generational musical work.
