The new Ring-bearer, John Stewart, joins Funko’s Pop! Heroes collection with this figure, numbered 650, inspired by the DC Studios series *Lanterns *. Character background and universe (Lore)

John Stewart is one of the principal Green Lanterns hailing from Earth. In DC Comics, he is the third human to have worn a Green Lantern Corps ring. A former member of the United States Marine Corps and a trained architect, he is distinguished by his discipline, tactical acumen and leadership qualities.

The Green Lantern Corps is an intergalactic organisation tasked with protecting the various sectors of the universe. Its members use will-powered rings capable of producing energy constructs whose form and power depend on the imagination, concentration and courage of the wearer. Several humans have joined its ranks, notably Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner and John Stewart.

In the series *Lanterns*, John Stewart is portrayed as a new recruit whose skills have yet to be put to the test. He is partnered with Hal Jordan, an experienced Green Lantern tasked with training him. The two men find themselves involved in an investigation into a murder committed on Earth, the ramifications of which gradually extend beyond the scope of a simple criminal case.

Unlike Hal Jordan, who is often characterised by his instinct and daring, John Stewart generally adopts a more methodical approach. His military experience enables him to analyse situations quickly, devise precise strategies and remain calm in the face of even the most serious threats.
