Spread terror across the planet Namek with this Pop! Animation No. 2476 figurine of Frieza – Frieza Saga, designed by Funko. This edition depicts the galactic tyrant in his iconic form during the final battle in Dragon Ball Z, facing off against Son Goku and the last defenders of Namek.

Frieza is depicted in his final form, recognisable by his white body streaked with purple, his long tail and his more streamlined silhouette compared to his previous transformations. His menacing demeanour and cold expression reflect the confidence with which he initially dominates his opponents.

The figurine incorporates the characteristic visual elements of the Pop! collection, with an oversized head, large black eyes and a stylised body. Despite this deliberately simplified design, it retains the character’s key features, notably his smooth skull, purple extremities and alien-like appearance.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Frieza is a galactic tyrant at the head of a vast military and commercial organisation. With his army, he conquers planets, wipes out their populations when it serves his interests, and sells off territories deemed valuable enough.

He is also responsible for the destruction of the planet Vegeta and the near-extinction of the Saiyan people. Fearing the emergence of the legendary Super Saiyan, Frieza decides to wipe out the entire planet, whilst keeping a few survivors—such as Vegeta, Nappa and Raditz—in his service.

When he learns of the existence of the Dragon Balls on Namek, Frieza travels to the planet in order to gain immortality. His soldiers attack the Namekian villages and gradually gather the seven spheres, whilst Vegeta, Krillin, Gohan and the inhabitants of Namek attempt to thwart his plans.

Frieza possesses several transformations that allow him to gradually restrict or unleash his immense power. His first form, which is relatively compact, gives way to increasingly imposing appearances before he reveals his final form, which is smaller and more streamlined.

In this form, Frieza vastly outclasses Vegeta, Gohan, Krillin and Piccolo. His seemingly less massive body conceals power, speed and endurance considerably superior to those of his previous transformations.

During his duel with Son Goku, he gradually increases the amount of power he uses. Goku attempts to stop him with a gigantic Genkidama, but Frieza survives the attack and retaliates by wounding Piccolo and then killing Krillin.

The death of his best friend unleashes Goku’s fury and triggers his first transformation into a Super Saiyan. For the first time, Frieza finds himself facing an opponent capable of surpassing his power and directly withstanding his attacks.

Refusing to accept defeat, the tyrant destroys the core of Namek in order to doom Goku along with him. Their clash continues on the dying planet, as Frieza finally utilises 100 per cent of his power.

This Pop! No. 2476 thus depicts the central antagonist of the Namek Saga in his most famous form, at the heart of the battle that marks the historic emergence of the Super Saiyan.
