Origin and universe of the character (Lore)
Released in 1990 and written by John Hughes, Mommy Missed the Plane is a cult Christmas film that follows the adventures of Kevin McCallister, an eight-year-old boy who has been forgotten by his family, who have gone to Paris for the holidays. Alone in his family's huge house in Chicago, Kevin first savours his freedom before having to defend his home against the "Blurred Burglars" (Harry and Marv), two clumsy burglars. To protect his home, Kevin displays a wealth of ingenuity by booby-trapping each room with everyday objects. The McCallister house becomes the scene of a memorable and funny battle, making it one of the most famous and nostalgic pieces of architecture in 1990s cinema. - *
