The hero Cloak joins Funko’s POP! Games collection with this figure inspired by his appearance in the video game Marvel Rivals. Draped in his dark cape, Tyrone Johnson strikes an offensive pose that highlights his Darkforce powers and his supporting role within the Cloak & Dagger duo.

The figure recreates the character’s purple and dark blue outfit, with a large hood framing his face and translucent energy effects around his hands. The black, irregular patches visible on his costume evoke the darkness of the Darkforce Dimension, which he can channel to attack, protect his allies or move instantly.

Cloak is depicted in the characteristic Funko POP! style, with an oversized head, large stylised eyes and a compact body. However, his forward-leaning pose and outstretched arm lend the figure greater dynamism and reflect his active use of dark energy.

Character background and lore

Cloak is the heroic alter ego of Tyrone Johnson, a teenager who meets Tandy Bowen after running away from home and arriving in New York. The two teenagers are kidnapped and then used as guinea pigs in experiments involving a synthetic drug. They survive the treatment and develop opposing yet complementary powers.

Tyrone becomes a living embodiment of darkness. His cloak grants him access to the Darkforce Dimension, a dark and icy realm in which he can engulf his opponents or instantly transport people from one place to another.

He is also capable of absorbing his victims’ life force and inducing in them an intense sensation of cold and terror. His body is generally intangible, although he can temporarily resume a physical form through sheer will or by absorbing sufficient light.

Dagger, whose real name is Tandy Bowen, on the other hand generates a luminous energy which she projects in the form of daggers. This light possesses both offensive and healing properties, but it also helps to stabilise Cloak’s constant hunger for life energy.

Their relationship is therefore deeply symbiotic. Tyrone offers Tandy a refuge within his darkness, whilst Dagger’s light balances the dark forces that threaten to consume Cloak. Together, they primarily combat drug trafficking, organised crime and organisations that exploit vulnerable young people.

In Marvel Rivals, Cloak and Dagger are combined into a single playable hero of the Strategist class. The player can switch between the two characters to combine Cloak’s dark attacks with Dagger’s healing abilities and light-based projectiles.

Cloak uses the Darkforce to inflict sustained damage, blind his opponents and increase their vulnerability. He can also temporarily make his allies difficult to target and move them through the darkness.

In the game’s story, Cloak and Dagger are travelling through the Darkforce Dimension when the temporal entanglement occurs. When they reappear, they discover a New York dominated by Dracula and join the resistance fighting againstthe Empire of Eternal Night.
