James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser, more commonly known as Jamie Fraser, is one of the main characters in *Outlander*, a literary series created by Diana Gabaldon and later adapted into a television series.

An 18th-century Scottish Highlander, Jamie meets Claire Randall, a 20th-century nurse who has been mysteriously transported back in time after walking through an ancient stone circle in Scotland.

As the story unfolds, Jamie becomes Claire’s protector, husband and partner. Their relationship unfolds against a backdrop of political conflicts, wars, clan rivalries and major historical events, notably the Jacobite rebellions.
