Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Mecha Sonic is an advanced fighting robot built by Dr. Eggman in the image of his worst enemy, memorably introduced in 1994 in the Mega Drive video game Sonic & Knuckles. Unlike the basic Badnik-type models, this sophisticated model was designed to be bigger, heavier and much more aggressive. Positioned as the last line of defence on the Death Egg orbital base or on the floating island of Sky Sanctuary, it has the ability to copy Sonic's rotating attacks. His power reaches an all-time high when he manages to temporarily absorb the Master Emerald's energy to obtain his own version of a Super transformation, becoming a formidable challenge for Knuckles the Echidna.
