Meet Thranduil, ruler of the Wood-elves of Mirkwood, with this Funko POP! Movies No. 2184 figurine inspired by *The Hobbit*. This figure highlights the elegance and regal bearing of Legolas’s father in the signature style of the POP! range. Funko states that this vinyl figure stands approximately 11.4 cm tall.
The figurine depicts Thranduil with his long blond hair, his royal attire in shades of green, and his imposing crown made of branches and orange autumn leaves. He also holds his ceremonial staff in one hand, whilst the intricate detailing on his costume emphasises his status as King of the Woodland Realm. These elements directly reflect the character’s appearance in the film adaptations of *The Hobbit*.
Made from PVC/vinyl, this POP! joins the Funko collection dedicated to *The Hobbit*, alongside figures such as Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield and Azog the Defiler. It is presented in the traditional POP! Movies display box No. 2184, allowing the figure to be displayed without removing it from its packaging.

Character background and lore
Thranduil is a Sinda Elf and the king of the Wood-elves of the Woodland Realm, situated in the northern part of Mirkwood. The son of Oropher, he succeeded his father as ruler of the kingdom and is also the father of Legolas, who would later become one of the members of the Fellowship of the Ring. In *The Hobbit*, Tolkien refers to him primarily as the Elvenking.
Thranduil reigns from vast underground halls hewn out of the rock in the north-east of the Black Forest. When Thorin Oakenshield and his company pass through his territory on their journey to Erebor, several Dwarves are captured and imprisoned in his palace. Bilbo Baggins, rendered invisible by the Ring, eventually manages to organise their escape using barrels carried along the river.
After Smaug’s death, Thranduil also leads his forces towards the Lonely Mountain. The tensions surrounding the treasure of Erebor are finally put to an end by the arrival of the Orc armies, leading Elves, Men and Dwarves to fight together in the Battle of the Five Armies. His kingdom would subsequently survive the conflicts of the Third Age, despite the growing threat from Sauron at Dol Guldur.
This POP! No. 2184 captures Thranduil’s regal identity particularly well: his crown of branches and leaves, his long staff and his green attire directly echo the forest ruler described in Tolkien’s universe and visually brought to life in *The Hobbit* films.
