- THE HOBBIT – POP! Movies No. 2186 – Azog the Defiler
Meet Azog the Defiler, one of the main antagonists of The Hobbit film trilogy, with this Funko POP! Movies No. 2186 figurine. This new depiction of the fearsome Orc of Gundabad captures his menacing appearance in Funko’s signature style. The vinyl figurine stands approximately 9.1 cm tall.
The figurine captures Azog’s defining features from the films: his very pale skin, his massive build and his war-hardened appearance, marked by his many battles against the Dwarves. This version is directly linked to his pursuit of Thorin Oakenshield and the heirs of Durin’s line.
Made from PVC/vinyl, this POP! joins Funko’s new The Hobbit series alongside figures such as Bilbo Baggins and Thorin Oakenshield. It comes in the traditional POP! Movies display box No. 2186, allowing it to be displayed with or without its packaging.

Character background and lore
Azog the Defiler is a powerful Orc chieftain and one of Thorin Oakenshield’s main enemies in Peter Jackson’s film trilogy *The Hobbit*. During the Battle of Azanulbizar, Azog kills Thrór, Thorin’s grandfather. The young Thorin then confronts him and cuts off one of his arms, but the Orc survives and from then on harbours a deep hatred for the line of Durin.
Years later, Azog personally pursues Thorin and his company during their journey to Erebor. His pursuit is not merely a matter of personal vengeance: he also becomes one of the commanders of the Orc forces mobilised against the free peoples of Middle-earth. In *The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies*, he leads one of the great Orc armies converging on Erebor and Dale, whilst his son Bolg commands reinforcements from Gundabad.
The conflict between Azog and Thorin comes to a head at Ravenhill, where the two adversaries face each other one last time. Azog manages to mortally wound the Dwarf king, but Thorin in turn succeeds in killing him, bringing their long-standing rivalry to an end.
This film adaptation significantly expands Azog’s role compared to J.R.R. Tolkien’s writings. In the literary account, Azog is killed by Dáin Ironfoot during the Battle of Azanulbizar, long before Bilbo and Thorin’s expedition; it is his son Bolg who commands the Orcs during the Battle of the Five Armies. POP! No. 2186 is therefore specifically inspired by the Azog from the film trilogy, in which he becomes Thorin’s personal adversary.
