Character background and universe (Lore)

Lucas Bishop is a mutant from a dystopian future in which mutants have suffered persecution and oppression at the hands of the Sentinels. Trained as a combatant and officer, he travels back in time to prevent the events that led to the destruction of his era and eventually joins the X-Men.

His power enables him to absorb various forms of energy directed at him, store them temporarily and then release them as powerful bursts. This ability makes him a particularly resilient opponent against energy-based attacks, although there are limits to the amount he can contain.

In X-Men ’97, Bishop plays a key role in the storylines involving time travel. After several X-Men members were scattered across different eras, he attempts to travel through time to improve the future from which he came. This POP! X-Corp figure is directly linked to this quest, depicting Bishop ready to use his powers to find his allies and prevent another temporal catastrophe.
