Character background and lore

Psylocke is a mutant fighter associated with the X-Men, renowned for her telepathic powers and her mastery of martial arts. In particular, she can read or influence minds and concentrate her psychic energy to create weapons, including a famous mental blade used in close combat.

Psylocke’s publishing history is particularly complex. The name was long held by Betsy Braddock, before she reclaimed her own identity and became Captain Britain. Kwannon, whose fate had been linked to Betsy’s through a swap of bodies and identities, subsequently took on the name Psylocke and made it her own.

Whichever incarnation she takes, Psylocke is distinguished by her combination of ninja techniques, bladed weapons and particularly powerful psychic abilities.
