GIANT GORG - Gorg - Plastic Model Kit Moderoid 16.5cm

Discover the mysterious blue giant from Giant Gorg with this MODEROID Plastic Model Kit designed by Good Smile Company. Once assembled, Gorg (Dux Guardian Gorg) stands approximately 16.5 cm tall and features numerous joints, allowing you to recreate various poses inspired by the animated series. This non-scale kit combines multi-coloured moulded parts, pre-painted elements and stickers to recreate his distinctive appearance straight out of the box.

The model features interchangeable hands and several parts made from flexible materials to enhance its range of movement. Its armament includes an imposing 180 mm cannon as well as two Pulse Launchers that can be mounted on its back. The energy conduits connected to this equipment are also made from a flexible material. The hatches on either side of the torso can be opened, adding a further display option.

The set also includes four unpainted miniature figures on the same scale, depicting Yuu Tagami, Doris and Argos. Yuu is available in two forms: a standing version and a second version showing him seated inside Gorg’s head. These accessories help to reinforce the link between the model kit and the adventure scenes from the original series.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Giant Gorg is a science fiction and mecha anime series produced by Sunrise, created and directed by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko. First broadcast in 1984, it comprises 26 episodes and follows the adventures of thirteen-year-old Yuu Tagami, who travels to the mysterious Island of Austral, which has appeared in the South Pacific.

On the island, Yuu meets Gorg, a gigantic blue robot as mysterious as he is impressive. Far from being a mere fighting machine, Gorg quickly becomes the young boy’s protector and companion, guiding him through the dangers of Austral. Together, they attempt to unravel the secrets hidden on the island, whilst the powerful international organisation GAIL also seeks to lay claim to its mysteries.

The bond between Yuu and Gorg is one of the central themes of the series, which blends adventure, science fiction, exploration and giant robot battles. This MODEROID model kit directly captures this relationship by including several miniature figures of Yuu, including a version specially designed to be placed inside Gorg’s head.
