MARVEL 80th - POP N° 593 - First Appearance Spider-Man

This vinyl collectible figure represents the character of Spider-Man in his very first visual appearance, published as part of the collection celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Marvel publishing house. Produced by the Funko brand as part of its Pop! range, the figure is in "Bobble Head" format, with a spring-mounted head that comes to life when the character moves. The character is modelled in a dynamic posture above a transparent base designed to simulate an aerial swaying movement.

This version is directly inspired by the character's historical design when it was introduced in August 1962 in the comic book Amazing Fantasy #15, written by Stan Lee and drawn by Steve Ditko. The story features young student Peter Parker who, following the bite of a radioactive spider, develops superhuman physical abilities, the ability to stick to walls and a sense of premonition of danger. The costume shown here includes the original attributes of the first version drawn, in particular the spider-web membranes under the character's arms.
