Boost the Cylon ranks with this POP! Television No. 1951 figure, inspired by the science fiction series Battlestar Galactica. Designed by Funko, this edition depicts a Cylon Centurion in a metallic finish that really brings out its robotic armour and menacing appearance.

The Cylon stands tall and imposing, with clenched fists at either side of its body. Its form is fully protected by armour comprising overlapping plates, angular guards and numerous mechanical components. The massive shoulder pads, reinforced legs and torso details replicate the military appearance of the units tasked with pursuing the last remaining human survivors.

The head features the characteristic design of the Centurions, with a dark horizontal visor, at the centre of which a red light usually flickers. This artificial gaze, combined with the complete absence of human features, reinforces the machine’s cold and unsettling appearance.

This version features a metallic finish that highlights the armour’s various contours. The shades of silver and dark grey create a contrast between the outer plates, the joints and the internal components, giving the figurine an appearance closer to that of metal than that of a traditional vinyl model.

Character background and lore

In Battlestar Galactica, the Cylons are artificial beings originally created by humanity to perform various tasks. However, their evolution leads them to turn against their creators, triggering a particularly destructive war between the humans of the Twelve Colonies and the machines.

After the First Cylon War, an armistice was agreed and the Cylons disappeared for around forty years. When they returned, their technology had advanced considerably. Some models retain a wholly mechanical appearance, such as the Centurions, whilst others have become almost indistinguishable from human beings.

The Centurions are the Cylons’ main ground combat units. Their armoured bodies, physical strength and obedience to humanoid models make them formidable soldiers. They are used in particular to protect Cylon installations, pursue survivors and intervene in operations requiring direct military force.

Their red visor is one of their most recognisable visual features. It symbolises their artificial perception of the environment and emphasises their mechanical nature. This POP! figure captures this cold, impersonal appearance, enhanced here by a metallic finish that directly evokes the Centurions’ armour from the series.
