Pacific Rim – Pop! Super No. 2105 – Knifehead – Vinyl figure – 16.3 cm

Bring to life one of the most fearsome creatures from Pacific Rim with this Pop! Super No. 2105 of Knifehead, designed by Funko. This large-scale edition depicts the Kaiju responsible for one of the film’s most memorable battles, pitted against the Jaeger Gipsy Danger.

Knifehead is instantly recognisable by his enormous head, extended by a large, blade-shaped bony protrusion. This structure, reminiscent of a goblin shark’s rostrum, is his main distinguishing feature and enables him to strike or pierce through his opponents’ armour.

The figure also captures its dark skin criss-crossed with luminous yellow lines, its powerful limbs and its massive silhouette. These features are adapted to the characteristic style of the Pop! collection, with an oversized head and simplified proportions, whilst retaining the Kaiju’s aggressive appearance.

This version is part of the Pop! Super range, which is larger than a standard Pop! figure. Funko states an official height of approximately 16.3 cm(6.4 inches) to better capture Knifehead’s imposing presence within a collection dedicated to Jaegers and Kaiju.

Made from vinyl, the figure comes in an illustrated window box bearing the number 2105. It can be displayed in its packaging or placed opposite Gipsy Danger to recreate one of the film’s first major battles.

Origin and character lore

In the Pacific Rim universe, the Kaiju are gigantic creatures sent to Earth by an alien civilisation known as the Forerunners. They pass through an interdimensional rift at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean before attacking coastal cities.

Knifehead is classified as a Category III Kaiju. It stands approximately 96 metres tall and weighs nearly 2,700 tonnes. Its very elongated head, inspired by that of a goblin shark, ends in a large, sharp structure capable of damaging the Jaegers’ armour.

The creature appears at the start of the film during an attack off the coast of Alaska. The American Jaeger Gipsy Danger, piloted by brothers Raleigh and Yancy Becket, is sent to intercept it before it reaches the coast.

The two pilots initially believe they have neutralised Knifehead, but the Kaiju survives and launches a surprise attack. It rips off one of the Jaeger’s arms, pierces its cockpit and kills Yancy Becket during the fight.

Raleigh then finds himself alone at the controls of Gipsy Danger. Despite the damage inflicted on the machine and the extreme difficulty of piloting a Jaeger without a partner, he manages to regain control and eliminate Knifehead using the plasma cannon.

This clash profoundly changes Raleigh. The loss of his brother prompts him to leave the Jaeger programme for several years, before Marshal Stacker Pentecost persuades him to return to the fight.

Knifehead thus plays a vital role in the narrative of *Pacific Rim*. Although he appears relatively early in the film, his partial victory over Gipsy Danger demonstrates that the Kaiju are evolving and becoming capable of defeating even experienced Jaegers.

This Pop! Super No. 2105 captures the Kaiju’s massive silhouette and distinctive rostrum in a more imposing format, perfect for a visual showdown with the Pop! Super Gipsy Danger.
