Korilakkuma is a Japanese fictional character from the Rilakkuma universe, created in 2004 by designer Aki Kondo for the San-X company. This anthropomorphic white teddy bear mysteriously appeared one day in the flat of the young employee Kaoru, and owes its name to the combination of the Japanese prefix "Ko-" (indicating a small size) and Rilakkuma, because of its resemblance to the latter. Unlike Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma has a red button sewn onto his chest, suggesting he may be wearing a plush costume, although his origins remain a secret. Characterised by a dynamic, playful and mischievous temperament, he loves playing pranks on his room-mates, listening to music and having fun with his yellow mechanical duck, Kiiroitori.
