Character background and universe (Lore)

Nico Wakatsuki is the main heroine of *Witch Watch*, a manga created by Kenta Shinohara. A young witch in training, she returns to live with her childhood friend Morihito Otogi, a descendant of a line of ogres, who also becomes her familiar and protector.

Enthusiastic, spontaneous and deeply attached to Morihito, Nico possesses numerous magical powers. Her spells, however, are often accompanied by unforeseen consequences, giving rise to many of the comical situations that punctuate the series.

Beneath its light-hearted exterior, the story gradually unfolds a broader supernatural world, populated by witches, ogres and other beings with special powers. In particular, Nico finds herself at the centre of a prophecy foretelling that a grave danger threatens her, which explains the protective role entrusted to Morihito.

Thanks to her cheerful nature, her sometimes uncontrollable powers and her relationships with the many characters who revolve around her, Nico Wakatsuki is the true heart of Witch Watch. This POP!
